The Women in Algorithms, Venture into Exploration (WAVE) works to open doors to Theoretical Computer Science (TCS) research, aiming to inspire and support more women in joining the field. The workshop will feature introductory technical talks spanning different TCS areas, alongside personal reflections on academic and career pathways presented by outstanding female researchers. The program will also include a panel discussion on current challenges in TCS, with particular emphasis on issues faced by early-career researchers and broader questions of diversity. Both female and male panelists will participate, reflecting the importance of collective efforts across the community in addressing these challenges. A student-led poster session will also be included to provide opportunities for participants to share their work and receive feedback in a supportive environment.

WAVE 2026 will take place on 11 September 2026 at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. The workshop is free to attend, though registration is required by 31 August 2026. Participants of all genders are encouraged, as all topics discussed are relevant to everyone in the field. International attendees are warmly welcomed. Thanks to the support from ELLIIT, we are able to provide travel support for participants from universities in southern Sweden, including Lund University, Linköping University, and Malmö University.
